Remember in 2 Peter 1 – it says the following –

5 And beside this, giving all adiligence, add to your faith bvirtue; and to virtue cknowledge;
In today’s world we often don’t give Diligence to many things – especially Godly things – like faith – faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the ONLY Begotten son of GOD! There is no other way to heaven or back to Heavenly Father! How does one give more diligence to this kind of faith?

2 Let us here observe, that three things are necessary, in order that any rational and intelligent being may exercise faith in God unto life and salvation.
3 First, The idea that he actually exists.
How do you KNOW that God Exists – beyond words or feelings? Some of the best ways are to feel after him – to fill his presence – to know he answers prayers – to see his hand in your life – what other ways exist?
4 Secondly, A correct idea of his character, perfections and attributes.
God is real he has a body – he is our father in heaven – he knows us – he is not just an imagination of our minds – there can be a real relationship with him – you can see – feel and experience his power in your life or in the lives of others – feel his spirit – listen to his word – hear the testimony of others.. etc. etc. etc.
5 Thirdly, An actual knowledge that the course of life which he is pursuing, is according to his will.—For without an acquaintance with these three important facts, the faith of every rational being must be imperfect and unproductive; but with this understanding, it can become perfect and fruitful, abounding in righteousness unto the praise and glory of God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Have you seen the hand of God in your life? If you absolutely know this – why doubt? You don’t have to prove this to any one – you can testify of this truth – but it can not be taken away from you! Think about that power – the power to see and experience this in your life – that is life changing!
6 And to knowledge atemperance; and to temperance bpatience; and to patience cgodliness;
Think about the knowledge we just talked about – temperance is more than not getting intoxicated or drunk – it’s about controlling our appetites and passions – our language and our speech etc.
Of course patience – we all need more or that – especially when things go wrong! That happens a lot any more – politically or other wise…
Now Godliness is all the things we are talking about here and more, that is a topic all in of it self – but think of Godliness as the best in mankind and the best in angels put into loving Father and Mother…
7 And to godliness abrotherly bkindness; and to brotherly kindness ccharity.
To be concerned for one another is brotherly kindness but it’s more – it’s acting on those feelings and actually – helping some one out – especially when it’s not easy to do or you are busy and more…
Now when you go to the 13 chapter or Corinthians – it will talk about charity – more importantly – it’s a divine or Godly Love – that Christ showed us in all that he lived and did in person to others – including sacrificing himself in the Garden and on the Cross! It’s a divine gift we should be seeking after and working on – more and more.. This crowing gift is so important – it will help with everything else we do – with ourselves and others, to gift does more for god and mankind then Charity!
8 For if these things be in you, and aabound, they make you that ye shall neither be bbarren nor cunfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If this gifts abound in you – like faith – humility – virtue – charity – diligence – patience and brotherly kindness – all other gifts necessary to become like GOD will come in time – if you have the faith, and repentance to receive it!
